4] VISIT TO KRISHNA JANMABHOOMI.

DAY - 5(24th Nov)

We started our journey at 6:30 AM in the morning. We reached Vrindavan by 8:30 AM. First, we went to Digamber Jain Derasar. 

VRINDAVAN

Vrindavan is a place where Lord Krishna has spent his childhood. It is located in Uttar Pradesh. It is approx. 70 kms from Agra and 60 kms from Bharatpur. There are too many Hindu temples located in Vrindavan. This place is famous for kachori and dairy products like lassi and Pedas.

Some IMP points to keep in mind.
  • BEWARE OF MONKEYS. DO NOT WEAR SPECS OR HOLD ANY IMP THINGS IN HAND or be ready to get it snatched 😂😂.
  • Most of the temples remain close between 12 PM to 4 PM.
  • Bags are not allowed inside the temples so it is advisable to leave them in car or taxi.

Places to visit :-

    1) Prem Mandir - 

    We reached Prem Mandir at 9:30 AM.It is a Hindu temple established by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji. This mandir is constructed entirely of Italian marble. The exterior area of Mandir displays the loving past times of Radha-Krishna. Numerous portraits of Radha-Krishna raas leela, miracles of Lord Krishna can also be found. It takes approx. 1 hr to explore this place.






    2) ISKCON Mandir - 

    ISKCON Mandir is a Hindu temple of Lord Krishna and Balraam. We reached this mandir at 10:30 AM. It took approx. 30 to 45 min to explore it.

    3) Banke Bihari Mandir - 

    We reached this mandir at 11:15 AM. It is the oldest Hindu temple in Vrindavan. The idol of Banke Bihari is believed to be the combined form of Radha and Krishna. As it is the most famous temple of Vrindavan, it was very crowded.

    After visiting Vrindavan, we reached Mathura at 12:30 PM. We first went to Swetamber Jain Derasar. It is one of the 108 Parshwanth Derasar.

    MATHURA

    Mathura is also known as Shri Krishna Janmasthan. It is located in Uttar Pradesh. It is approx. 15 kms from Vrindavan. There are many Hindu temples located in Mathura. This place is famous for Brijwasi Pedas.

    Places to visit :-

      1) Krishna Janmabhoomi - 

      There is a temple for Krishna Janmabhoomi and jail is also there. Devki and Vasudev were kept in captivity inside this jail by Kans(maternal uncle of Lord Krishna). A stone where all the past 7 siblings of Krishna were killed and Krishna was born is also present there. As we were a bit late, the mandir got closed. But we were able to see the jail. 
      All electronic gadgets are banned inside the temple including mobile phone.

      After this, we went to see Fatehpur Sikri.
